Rendered in Maya I used a mixture of displacement using the multidisplacment mapper in Zbrush and the Zmapper to generate all my normal map. I also used a mix of programs to get the look I wanted and to capitalized on each software's best tools to get it done fast. The careful utilization of Zbrush in concert with other programs offers a new way to do 3D modeling. For a little bit more on this you can visit my website quantumcathedral.
